Food Sensitivity Testing
Food sensitivity testing is an important aspect of treatment at Advanta Total Health. That’s because food allergies can be quite dramatic; in some cases, food allergy symptoms are life threatening. However, while only about 4% of the population suffers from food allergies, the number impacted by food sensitivity or food intolerance is estimated to be closer to 70%.
While food allergy symptoms include things like tingling of the tongue, digestive distress, and constricted airways, food sensitivities manifest in different ways. Food intolerance has been linked to conditions like digestive disorders, migraine headaches, obesity and the inability to lose weight, chronic fatigue, ADD/ADHD, joint pain, eczema, arthritis, and even autism, but may not be discovered by allergy testing.
Because food allergy testing isn’t designed to detect food sensitivities, we use the C3d Antigen test for gluten intolerance testing and other sensitivity to chemicals and food. This particular food sensitivity testing exposes delayed responses to food allergy and sensitivity reactions. This allows the healthcare professionals at Advanta Total Health to have a better understanding of the way certain food allergens affect your mood, concentration, ability to lose or maintain a healthy weight, and even what seemingly unrelated ailments are being caused by the sensitivity.
